Operator XR selected for National Trial of Policing Law Enforcement System

xReality Group (XRG) is thrilled to share the news that we have been chosen as a technology and expertise supplier for a funded National trial of its Law Enforcement system. This prestigious trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Virtual Reality Simulation Based Training (VRSBT) in enhancing frontline safety for police officers.

Operator XR will be working closely with an undisclosed foreign National Police Force over the next six months, immersing their officers into highly personalised scenarios to assess the capabilities of our cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) system.

What sets Operator XR apart is its ability to provide police and law enforcement agencies with a highly portable, easy-to-use, and incredibly realistic Virtual Reality training experience.

One of the key benefits is that it doesn’t require internet connectivity, making it highly secure and easily configurable. It also allows officers to train together in the same VR environment, even in the most challenging situations. Additionally, they are able to bring their own policing equipment into the VR environment, enabling officers to conduct extremely realistic training scenarios.

Operator XR has worked tirelessly to develop the software from the ground up. Leveraging the latest innovations in Virtual Reality technology and our extensive experience in design and scaled software platforms, we have created a system that exceeds market expectations.

“The decision to award this National trial to XRG further confirms the quality and effectiveness of the technology. We are currently experiencing a high level of demand from around the world from both military and law enforcement agencies. We look forward to seeing the positive impact our technology can make on improving the safety and preparedness of those men and women on the frontline.” – Wayne Jones, CEO, xReality Group Ltd.

At xReality Group Limited, we believe that Virtual Reality Simulation Based Training is the future of law enforcement training. We are committed to playing a key role in enhancing the safety and preparedness of police officers worldwide. The national trial represents a significant step towards achieving this goal.

Operator Sale to Western Australia Police Force

We are proud to announce a new and ongoing partnership with the Western Australian Police Force, in the first sale of our Operator LE de-escalation training system.

WA Police have implemented a $1.7M budget over a 5-year period, with their first order being valued at $1.04 million. This order includes hardware, software licensing, and on-demand technical support
over a 3-year term. The additional $634K covers licensing and support for a further two years of service.

Our Operator LE technology allows all forms of Law Enforcement – Police and otherwise – to train in realistic but completely simulated scenarios in a virtual reality environment. Compared with a physical training ground, Operator LE’s smaller virtual space and lightweight, easy-to-deploy technology, gives Law Enforcement more opportunities to enter and exit dynamic training scenarios at will. The system has been fully developed from the ground up by XRG, using the latest innovations in virtual reality technology. For a video demonstration of Operator, see http://www.operatorsimulation.com

Compared with a physical training ground, Operator LE’s smaller virtual space and lightweight, easy-to-deploy technology, gives Law Enforcement more opportunities to enter and exit dynamic training scenarios at will.

The Western Australia Police Force tendering process pitted Operator against established global competitors. The resulting success is validation of a superior product and market fit and we are excited about the future market potential. We have established an extensive pipeline of sales, receiving interest across four continents in a very short period of time.

The Western Australia Police Force currently includes over 7,300 Sworn Officers, which totals approximately 11% of Police Officers in Australia, and 0.3% of the Total Addressable Market in Law Enforcement globally.

DroneShield Partners with Operator VR

DroneShield, an Australian defence solutions company that targets military Drone and AI
technology, has partnered with Operator to provide training for scenarios that
involve counterdrone and C-UAS situations.

Our virtual reality training program, Operator VR, contains a wide variety of scenarios
that allow military personnel to train in a safe environment. The rapid
deployment technology gives soldiers the opportunity to insert themselves into
any situation and train in response, tactics, and outcomes.

In a video released by Red Cartel, the developers of Operator’s systems, a device known as
the DroneGun is being deployed to eliminate a drone threat safely. In both
virtual and physical spaces, this equipment allows military personnel to defend
themselves against Drone strikes without resorting to kinetic projectiles such
as personal firearms, where soldiers are more likely to miss a small, fast
target. Watch the video here:

By utilizing scenarios designed by DroneShield for use inside Operator’s VR training grounds, personnel can deploy and practice with DroneGuns to better understand how they function, without putting themselves or active military drones at risk. The Operator Command Centre allows instructors to observe the training inside the virtual world in real-time, from multiple viewpoints, and provide live feedback to soldiers without needing to terminate the simulation.

The launch of this product was bookended by a promotional event at the I/ITSEC 2022 Exhibition in Orlando, Florida. The expo ran from November 28th to December 2nd and was a great success for everyone involved.

We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with DroneShield to develop and deliver the best possible counterdrone training simulations. We are confident that, with the increase of unmanned aerial systems used in military operations, we can provide safe and efficient training to members of the military tasked with C-UAS procedures.

iFLY Wins Inclusive Marketing & Communication Award

On May 31st, 2022, iFLY Downunder won the Inclusive Communication and Marketing award from the Multicultural Network Zero Barriers Business Excellence Awards.

We are so proud of iFLY for continuing to work hard in order to receive this award. They consistently strive to host an inclusive and welcoming environment for everybody. The company is passionate about accessibility and giving people of any ability the opportunity to fly their body their way. iFLY was also nominated for the Physical Inclusion and Inclusion Service awards, further highlighting their commitment to be an accessible activity for everyone.

We love what the Zero Barrier project represents. For those unaware, Zero Barriers is a free business and service support project that aims to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities when shopping, using services, or participating in activities in their local communities. Businesses take the Zero Barriers online assessment to review how accessible they are, then are provided feedback on what changes can be made to make their environment more inclusive and accessible. You can find out more about the project here: https://zerobarriers.net.au

Part of their commitment to accessibility is their annual involvement in International Day of People with Disability. They have filmed past events to help communicate what iFLY is all about and showcase how truly accessible it is.

To further assist with communication, they created three versions of the last video, with AUSLAN and open caption versions posted across their online channels. It was the creation of these communications that gathered their achievement with this award.

iFLY truly believes everybody should be given the chance to spread their wings and fly. In addition to their International Day of People with Disability event, they hold a number of All Ability events throughout the year. These events are a huge success, and the community support is outstanding. They are always so excited to showcase the fact that truly anybody can fly. iFLY also offers a 20% discount all year round – discount code ‘ICANFLY’.

Release of first in-house produced VR game, Androids & Outlaws

Androids & Outlaws

We are very excited to announce our first in-house video game experience, developed by our own VR studio, Red Cartel, has now been released and is playing in our Bondi and Gold Coast venues.

Androids & Outlaws is a fun and competitive multiplayer shooter game, played in FREAK’s Free-Roam Arena. The game pits 2 or 4 players against each other and features a friendly, cartoony aesthetic and utilizes the Vive Focus 3 Virtual Reality headset. To play, players are given a virtual shield and gun, and must shoot the opposing team to gain points. There is no limit to how many times players can be shot, as each round is based on a time limit. The team that holds the most points at the end of the round is victorious.

The Arena was previously limited to players aged 10 or older due to the weight of the backpack and equipment. However, by offering the use of the Vive Focus 3 and its accompanying controllers instead, the heavy equipment is entirely eliminated, allowing a younger and wider audience to play Androids & Outlaws.

Red Cartel spent several months developing this title specifically and exclusively for FREAK to use in the Arena to increase the market audience by accessing a younger demographic.

The in-house production means the game can be modified ongoing and quickly with any improvements that may be required.

FREAK have already seen a growth in the use of the second Arena during weekday operations, and an increase in younger players aged 8+, thanks to the release of this exclusive new title.

Find out more about Androids & Outlaws on the FREAK website below:
